Questions people ask

What is The Laal?

The Laal is a marketplace app for everyday buying and selling in India. The name is a pun on dalal, the familiar middleman: the platform sits between buyer and seller to help them find, discuss and complete a deal.

Where can I use The Laal?

We are starting with neighbourhoods in Pune. Other cities will follow, and we will announce them here rather than promise dates in advance.

What is LAAL Adda?

Adda is the community side of The Laal, built around neighbourhoods. People ask questions, share local recommendations and updates, and help each other. Adda posts are conversations, not listings.

What is Certified The Laal?

Certified The Laal is a participant role for people who themselves act as dalals: sourcing, brokering or buying things to resell. Selling your own used phone or offering your own service does not make you one.

Which languages does it support?

English and Hinglish today. We are building toward Marathi and other Indian languages with native copy for each, not literal translation.

Are the photos real?

Listings use the seller's own photographs. We do not whiten, recolour or retouch them, so you can judge the item as it is.

How do I report a problem or reach a grievance officer?

Use the in-app report options, or see our grievance page for how complaints are handled.
